Show BUSINESS BRIGHTENS UP II THE MARKETS Demand for Fish, as Is Usual on Friday, Is Very Heavy. In spite of the cold weather, business brightened up somewhat on the local produce pro-duce market Friday. Dealors reported moderately heavy sales In all departments. There was an especially large demand for fish, as is usually tho case on "fish day," oysters, salmon and crabs selling the best. Oysters were very plentiful yesterday, but there was no change In quotations on the delicacy. The canned variety rotalled at 40 and 60 cents a can, according to size, and the loose oysters at 60 cents a quart or 30 cents a pint. . Turkeys were displayed In abundance at the various meat markets, and grocery and poultry stores of the town yesterday, but the demand for the bird was very light, owing to the high price. Dealers offered turkoy3 yesterday at 25 and 275 cents a pound. Utah turkeys arc very scarce and tho majority of those now on the market are eastern birds, having been shipped In from either Kansas or Nebraska. Nebras-ka. One dealer said yesterday that he tried to procure 200 Utah turkeys during tho forepart of the week, but only succeeded suc-ceeded in getting eight. Oranges are now very plentiful and tho quality is much Improved. The price of the fruit aleo is on the decline, it being possible to purchase a ery good variety yesterday at 25 or 30 cents a dozen.
