Show Li Hill CON. SElljJICH CAR Shipment From New Body Carries Car-ries Very High Values, in Silver. MINE IS OPENING LIKE A VETERAN Company Taking Out No More Rock Than Necessary in Development. General Manager George St, Claire of the Lion Hill Consolidated company com-pany of the Ophir camp is in this citj' seeking after the settlement for a car of first-class rock from this mine. Ho-cently Ho-cently the management struck rather unexpectedly a very rich shoot, of ore in tho long tunnel, the working being in about 1200 feet. The ore body is fourteou feet in width and carries splendid Aalues in tho metals. The car being sold in the local market mar-ket carried ore valued at $1.20 gold per ton, 225 ounces silver aud 7 per cent lend, and tho shipment is tho result, of pure development work and was extracted by drifting only four-I four-I teen feet along the strike. At the j point where this ear came from tho ! management has 400 feet vertical depth, and shipments could be maintained steadily hereafter by sinking and sloping slop-ing if the officials so desire. The company is planning another tunnel which will come in from the 1 other side of the hill, and this new work will give a vertical depth of 1SU0 feet on this new ore body. Mr. St. Claire reports that everything at tho mine is progressing without a hitch, and he is nnturally well pleased with development and with the valuo of this allotment of rock just sold. The shipment ship-ment illustrates what the Lion Hill Consolidated company could do if it would cut loose iu earnest and send in steady shipments. San Francisco Mining Stocks. SAN FRANCISCO. The selling continued until afternoon; aft-ernoon; when there was an entire change, and prices began to pick up.
