A splendid arra' of copper and coid rock is beinff displayed on West Second South slreet by the manaccmout of tbo Soulliorn Pacific Copper aud Gold Mining and Millinc company, a proposition proposi-tion located in tbo Sierra Madre mininc district of Utah near Ocden. President j and General Manacor Buruhan stated ' to Tho Tribune j'estcrday that this i rock represented morory the better trrado found in the mines, the values of which extend to liberal heights, carry- injr from $500 on up in cold, from 125 to 30 per cent copper and from five- to nine ounces silver to tho ton. The rock shows free cold in abundance, and came from no greater vertical depth than twenty foot. ' Tho management has encountered two splondid veins deeper by means of a tunnel, t.ho first vein bcinj: tapped at a point 300 feel, in and tho second 334 feet in, and this work proves up tho veins found closer to the surface in tho earlier workings. Mr. Buruham states that it is now demonstrated tho ores extend to depth, and that this organization organiza-tion has one of tho greatest copper miues along the Pacific coast region. The company in the past has extracted a vcr3" large tonnage of milling grade rock, which will bo available with a mill, aud as tho present encrgetic work to which the mino is being subjected is bringing richer rock to light each day, tho compauy should be in a position posi-tion early in the new yoar to send much valuable' ore to the local smelters. Tho oro shown 3'rsterday io about tho finest lot of rock over exhibited locally. |
