That iho eunto committee on interoceauic canals ;s prepared to take up any sort, of an investigation of. canal affairs that may h demanded by any member of the fommittcc was asserted today by Senator Sena-tor Kit.tredgc of South Dakota, chairman chair-man of the committee. "It has been the policv of the senate committee," said Mr. Kittrcdgc today, "to call witnesses wit-nesses at any time a demand is made by any membor of tho committee, and I purpose to continue that policy.
