Tho Columbus mill startc up today to test Its machinery and get everything In working order, and will start on Its regular capacity about Monday. Mon-day. Thero Is plenty of ore to keep It going go-ing at Its full capacity for a long time. Tho success of this plant and tho Continental Conti-nental Alta mill means a great deal for Alta'8 future. Tho Alta Qulncy Is getting get-ting largo bodies of milling oro, and the South Columbus will get tho same aa tho Qulncy. The Albion has largo bodies of milling ore In Its old workings and tho Pittsburg also has a large body Jn sight. Alta Is to bo the greatest mill camp of Utah. The superintendent for the construction of tho Alta aerial tramway arrived hero yesterday and Immediately advertised for twelvo men, and will begin work today. Tho Alta Consolidated has put six men to work and Is building a new boarding-house boarding-house and blacksmith shop. F. W. Craig of tho Tampa and Mr. Schafcr of New York wero hero this week examining the Bryan group. They took a large lot of samples back with them. Tho Bryan has largo bodies of copper orn developod that averago about 7 per cent copper, running also In gold and silver. |
