Lawson, tho Boston copper magnate, today wired A. B. Keith, managing editor edi-tor of tho Butte Miner, $5000, the money to be forfeited to the labor unions of Butte or to any Montana citizen cit-izen If Augustus Heinze can prove that he has not disposed of his Butte copper mines and smelters to tho Amalgamated Copper company, as stated by Mr. Law-son Law-son in his address to the citizens of Montana October 27. To Turn Over Entire Sum. Editor Keith Is authorized by Lawson to turn over the entire sum to the first man, woman or child or union of Montana Mon-tana that will prove that Mr. Lawson's statement concerninir Hcinze are untrue. un-true. Offer Good for Ten Days. The offer holds good for ten days, during which time tho money will be displayed in tho windows of tho Miner in the shape of $20 gold pieces piled in tho rough hats of several of Senator Clark's miners. Pinned to the haty will he a statement from Mr. Lawson, saying: say-ing: "Truth, or lies, pure gold or cheap talk which?" Policemen Guard Treasure.
