Show Associated Women Look To Past, And Into Future The Bountiful North region of the (Utah Association of. Women tield a successful meeting on Thursday, Jan. 22. Current members, charter members and special guests. Representatives Lloyd Sel-leneit Sel-leneit and Ute Knowlton and their wives, enjoyed an evening even-ing of "Reflections of the Past; Projections for the Future." NEW REGIONAL officers were also elected that evening and include JoAnn Selleneit, president; Helen Day, first vice president; Kim Griesem-er, Griesem-er, second vice president; and Lee Forbush, third vice president-secretary. Featured speaker, Dixie Nelson, shared experiences from her two-year term as president of the Utah Association Associa-tion of Women. She was particularly parti-cularly pleased with the growing grow-ing recognition of the UA of W both statewide and nationally. SHE COMMENDED the UA of W's lobbyist at the Utah State Legislature, Michelle Van Sickle, and aiso the association asso-ciation monitor for federal legislation, Ruth Gulbrandsen. She also praised the 1,700 members of the association and the staff of the organization's organiza-tion's newsletter, "Utah Women Speak." The editor of the newsletter, Betty Fisher, is a resident of Farming ton. The newsletter has a circulation of 2,400. MRS. NELSON challenged those present to do what they are able in the spirit of civic involvement. "Even a young mother." she states, "can help with telephoning or other tasks while she is in her home." She particularly encouraged those inactive charter members mem-bers to recommit themselves to the betterment of the community. |
