Show Woods Cross Tables Improvement District For Indefinite Period WOODS CROSS - The Woods Cross City Council has tabled indefinitely a decision deci-sion to approve or scrap a city-wide city-wide curb, gutter and sidewalk improvement district. MAYOR LAWRENCE Urry said the city council wants to first research some funding alternatives for the project. The city's original plan was to levy assessments for the construction against those landowners participating in the renovations, but the mayor said the council is having second thmights about the measure. me-asure. HE NOTED briefly that the city may consider obtaining some sort of federal block grant for the improvement district, dis-trict, but would not specify the exact type of grant. "We have lo know what we're going to do." he said, before the city can hold public hearings and gather citizen in put over the completion ol the project. BASED ON the amount of lime required for the hearings and for engineering and planning plan-ning for the district, the city has already been told construction con-struction on the project probably prob-ably will not begin until early 1982. The council's decision to table the matter indefinitely, however, may delay the district dis-trict even longer, mdm |
