Russell and Jan Whitaker and family in Farmington, are hosts to Alfredo Porto. 17 years of age, an exchange student stu-dent from Campinas, Brazil. KRIS WHITAKER. 14, is a freshman at Davis High School and shares his room with Alfredo whose nickname is Tio. Tio has four brothers and sisters at home and his Farmington Farm-ington family includes Kris, Shelley 16, and Kim 17, who all attend Davis High. Heidi 12. attends Kaysville Jr. High and Scott 8. is at Farmington Elementary School. IN JUST A week since Tio arrived in Farmington. he has become very well adjusted and his family here loves him. He is a champion tennis player, swims, plays soccer and likes to water ski. The family will take him to the mountains for snow skiing during dur-ing the winter. He plans on being an engineer as he continues con-tinues his studies. His father is an anesthesiologist. THE Whitakers went to Bear Lake for the Cisco last weekend but without success, but it was an unusual experience experi-ence for their new friend. Alfredo will return to Brazil in July, speaks English very well but is working to improve his diction. He is very pleased with his new family and surroundings, sur-roundings, kj |
