Show District Slates Parenting Class The Parent Education Resource Re-source Center of the Davis County School District is sponsoring a new Systematic Training for Effective Parenting Parent-ing (STEP) class beginning Feb. II. THE COURSE will run each Wednesday evening through March 17 and will be led by Jeff Clarke, certified social worker of the Davis School District. Jeff is the father of five young children and is currently assigned as a social worker to the Behavioral Adjustment Unit in the district. THE COURSE is designed to enhance parenting skills and assist parents in dealing more effectively with their children. The objectives of the course are: To better understand the child's behavior, to better understand parental feelings and reactions, to help children solve problems and become re sponsible beings, to gain valuable valu-able communication skills, to apply logical and natural consequences con-sequences in discipline, and to promote strong and loving relationships re-lationships within the family by providing democratic leadership for their own children. chil-dren. ENROLLMENT for the course is limited. Advance registration reg-istration is required, and will be accepted through Feb. 6. The cost of the course will be $10 per individual or $13 per couple. This fee includes the STEP handbook. The course will begin each Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m. and will be conducted at the Monte Vista Center, 70 South 200 East, Farmington, Utah 84025.
