Show Btfl. Superwalk Set BOUNTIFUL - The Bountiful Boun-tiful Area 1979 March of Dimes Superwalk is planned for Saturday, April 21, come rain or shine. Registration will from 8 to 9 a.m. SPONSORED by the Bountiful Boun-tiful Jaycees, the walkathon will begin and end at the Bountiful 5-Points parking lot. The route will take walkers over a 25-mile course. Beginning at the shopping mail parking lot, walkers will follow a route north to 1000 North, Centerville, on Main Street, east on 1000 North to Orchard Drive (400 East), south on Orchard Drive to 400 North, east on 400 North to 800 , East, south on 800 East to 500 , South, west on 500 South to Orchard Drive, south on Orchard Drive to about 3100 South, north again on 500 West. WALKERS WILL then follow 500 West to a point near 1800 South where they will turn around and retract to 2W South where they will go west on 2600 South to 800 West, north on 800 West to 1500 South (Bountiful), and then east on 1500 South to the 5-Points Mall parking lot where the walkathon will conclude. The walk will be patrolled by local police and Bountiful Jeep Posse members but walkers are urged to walk on sidewalks or shoulders of the road. Walkers must not impede im-pede vehicle traffic. WALKERS ARE urged to dress for the occasion because the walkathon will be held regardless of weather. Participants are encouraged en-couraged to wear light clothing unless the weather is especially inclement. Wear comfortable (not new) shoes or boots with a thick pair of socks. Tennis shoes, loafers and moccasins will soon create a problem. Powdered feet will help to prevent chafing, chaf-ing, according to walkathon officials. ALTHOUGH there will be an escort the entire route, and emergency vehicles to return overweary walkers to the starting point (parking lot), participants are urged not to accept a ride from anyone whose car does not have a "March of Dimes" walkathon sign. Participants should also bring a lunch or plan to purchase food along the route Each participant should also bring money to make telephone calls back home as they progress along the route officials said. THEY ALSO suggested that a good, high-energy meal be eaten before the walkathon but that walkers eat sparingly along the route.
