Show ted Finalist In Teenager Pageant TERI ALLISON Miss Teri L. Allison, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Sullivan of Farmington has been selected to be a finalist in the 1979 Miss Utah National Teenager Pageant to be held in the Salt Palace, Little Theatre on June 1 The Miss Utah National Teenager Pageant is the official state final to the Miss National Teenager Pageant which will be held in Atlanta, Ga., Aug. 11 over national television. rMISS LISA Gleave of American Fork, is theTeign-ing theTeign-ing Miss Utah National Teenager. She won the national na-tional essay contest and received an additional $1,000 cash scholarship. Barrie Burnett Bur-nett of Gallatin, Tenn., is the current Miss National Teenager. Miss Melanie Hea-ton Hea-ton of Salt Lake City will be Miss Hospitality. There will be contestants from all over the state who will be competing in the three-day event. They will be judged on scholastic achievement-leadership; poise-personality; and appearance-beauty. There will be no swim suit or talent competition. Each contestant will recite a 100-word essay on the subject "What's Right About America." MISS ALLISON is being sponsored by Taylor's Carpet World, Layton. Her hobbies include handcrafts, reading, writing, water and snow skiing, ski-ing, volleyball, football, soft-ball, soft-ball, track, hunting and fishing, tennis and bowling. Each contestant accepted will be requested to participate in the Volunteer Community Service Program of the National Na-tional Teenager Pageant which teaches teenagers to , share and to participate in school and civic affairs. A mini-modeling charm course will be given during the weekend of the pageant. The winner of the Miss Utah National Teenager Pageant will receive an all expense paid trip to Atlanta, Ga. to compete in the Miss National Teenager Pageant where $10,000 in cash scholarships will be awarded, plus new car, bedroom suite and trips. |
