Show Wyoming service honor L. Twitchell MANILA - Funeral services for Leonard Monroe Twitchell, 57, who passed away in Salt Lake City, were July 21, ltmi at the McKinnon, Wyo. LDS Chapel with Bishop Steve Wilkinson officiating. Prior to the service, the family prayer was offered by Charlie Meeks. Bishop Wilkinson conducted the meeting. The invocation was given by former Bishop Albert Wilde. The obituary was given by Bishop Wilkinson. A musical selection "The Green, Green Grass of Home," was sung by John Elmer. Bishop David Potter spoke. Another musical selection, selec-tion, "Whispering Pines," was sung by Joe Griffin. Norma Gamble read the "Cowboy's Prayer". The benediction was by Theron Wilde. Burial was in the Manila Cemetery with the dedication of the grave by Jack Meeks. A military salute was also given in Twitchell's honor. Pallbearers were his brothers, Tony, Jim and Max Twitchell, Euscbic Irisarrie, Bert Lamb and Don Behunin. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Meeks, Andy Lev. George Back, Tom Stockman, Gale Lamb, Dean Cook, Modesto Mendicoa, Steve Hale, Robert Hale, Larry Cook, and Dana Parkinson. Leonard Monroe Twitchell was born in Manila, August 20, 1924, the son of Wallace and Elsie Twitchell. Most of his life was spent in ranching. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service for several years. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, a past member of the Daggett County Lions Club, and past member of the Whiterocks Mounted Posse. He was a member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his wife Shirley of Manila; his mother of Ogden; four daughters, Katherine Issacs of Circle, Montana; Peggy Bach of Meeker, Vicky Stockman of Manila; Connie Lev of Rock Springs. Wyo.; four sisters, Enid Schrock of Ogden; Nona Abrams of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; Mildred LaPlant of Vale, Ore. ; Carol Ransom of Othello, Washington and Max Twitchell of Ogden; 11 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his father, a son Kurtland Clint, two daughters, Mona Lee and Lenna, a brother Chuck Twitchell and a sister Ester White. |
