Show American Legion post 124 honor 3 senior members The American Legion held a dinner July 19 at the Post Home in Jensen. The dinner was given in honor of three senior members. Legionnaires and Auxiliary members joined in honoring life members, Joe Haslem who has served 61 years with the legion; M. Harden Nelson who has served 54 years and Ralph Chew w ho has given 45 years to the American Legion. These members are life members of the American Legion and Veterans of World War I. Joe Haslem is 86 years old. Harden Nelson is 83 and Ralph Chew is 81. These Legionnaires are still active in the Legion and in community affairs and organizations. Approximately 85 members and guests were in attendance. Dinner was served by the auxiliary members. A large cake was donated by Commander Julian A. Massey. |
