Playground equipment dedicated by city, clubs During a short ribbon cutting ceremony last Friday morning, playground equipment north of the Marguerite Colton Pavilion was dedicated by contributors to the project. The project began several months ago when Vernal City put $10,000 aside for playground equipment. Several clubs in Vernal contributed money to the project which was finally completed com-pleted last week. The $16,000 playground facility includes in-cludes four slides, two sets of swings, monkey walk, and rope climbs. Contributors of money or materials to the playground equipment . were Vernal City, Dowell Ladies Club, Kommonettes, Beta XI Soroity, Ladies of Elks, Unity Rebekah Lodge No. 23, Mens Lions Club, Cultural Arts Club, Credit Womens International Club, Dowell Co., Intermountain Concrete, McDonalds Restaurant and Utah Power and Light Co. According to Bob Nickolson, city-county city-county planner, another playground facility is planned north of the Vernal Municipal Swimming Pool, 600 West 100 South. The popularity of the new playground equipment was proven Friday as hundreds of children utilized the facility. |
