Enlistees And National Guardsmen Honored At Farewell Party Here Selected service men and nation- al guard enrollees from American Fork and Alpine were honored at a farew-ell party Wednesday night in the Apollo hall, sponsored by the American Legion post and auxiliary unit. During an intermission, a short patriotic program was presented, with Commander Jack Iverson of the Legion post in charge. Speakers included Sylvan W. Clark, representing repre-senting the district draft board; Adolphus Pulley, the American Legion Leg-ion post; George Larson of Spanish Fork, the district Legion officers; and Eleroy West of Pleasant Grove, the national guard unit, of which he is the commanding officer. Mrs. Thelma Pulley, on behalf of i the Legion and auxiliary, presented j a billfold to each of the enlistees, Wilson Greenwood, LaVon Earl, Howard Christensen, Victor Keith Adamson, Samuel Wanlass, Don Robinson and Charles Shumway, who will leave today (Friday) for a year of army training; and Jim McDaniel of Alpine, Allan Madsen, Fred Bowen, Darrell Wanlass and Jack Green, who have enlisted in the national guard and will leave March 3. The program also included trumpet trum-pet solos by Cecil Ray Hansen, and community singing of "God Bless America", led by Mrs. Ora H. Chip-man. Chip-man. The national guardsmen of the Pleasant Grove unit and three enlistees en-listees from Lehi were special guests at the dance. |
