Show One of the outstanding social events of the season was the Junior Literary club "Husbands Party" held Thursday night, February 13, at Twin Pines in Orem. Club members mem-bers and husbands were seated at a large banquet table decorated with sweet peas and Valentine favors. Mayor O. DeVere Wootton acted as toastmaster. Greetings to guests were extended by Miss Betha Storrs, club president. A solo "In My Garden" Gar-den" was sung by Rulon Nicholes, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Humphries. Hum-phries. A toast "Valentine to My Husband," given "by Mrs. La Bell Ingersoll; a toast "The Men," given by Mrs. Leona Noyes; toast "The Women," given by Ross Buckwalter. At each place was a paper heart on which were written three lines of a Valentine verse.' The guests demonstrated their poetic ability by adding the fourth line. Amid great hilarity the verses were read and prizes awarded to Mrs. Detta Buck-waiter, Buck-waiter, Mrs. Marion Green, Mr. Sherman Robinson, and Mr. Harold Chipman. The remainder of the evening was spent in games, dancing and singing. One of the interesting events of the evening was a "Prize Waltz" which was won by Mr. and Mrs. Marion Green. They were presented pre-sented v a bouquet of sweet peas. Committee in charge of the affair was Mrs. Leona Grant, chairman; Mrs. Lillian Nelson, co-chairman, with Mrs. Nora Wootton, Mrs. Ethel Nicholes and Mrs. Hortense Allen assisting. Those present were: Miss Betha Storrs, Mr. Wendell Noyes, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Ingersoll, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Noyes, Mr. and Mrs. R-oss Buckwalter, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Green, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Chipman, Mr. and Mrs. Ow:en Humphries, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Robinson, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Robinson, Rob-inson, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Nelson, j Mr. and Mrs. O. Adamson and family entertained Tuesday evening at a farewell social in honor of their son and brother, Victor Keith Adam-son, Adam-son, who will leave; Friday to enter a training camp of the U. S. army. A picnic supper was enjoyed by the following: Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Adamson and family of Draper, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Adamson and family fam-ily of Spanish Fork, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Adamson and son Gary of Lehi, Mr. and Mrs. Vergil Adamson and son Teddie, and Mr. and Mrs. N. E. Nash and son Blaine of American Fork, Mr. and Mi's. Oscar Hall and sons James and Junior, Keith and Karl Adamson and Cora Beck of Highland, and the parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Adamson. The Primary association officers and teachers entertained the parents par-ents of the Primary children at a Parents Day social Saturday afternoon. after-noon. A program by the children, a short class period, and dancing and games were enjoyed. Several stake board members were in attendance. atten-dance. A bag of candy and nuts was presented to each person attending. at-tending. Keith Adamson was pleasantly surprised at a large group of Mutual officers and friends at his home Wednesday evening. Games were enjoyed and a tasty picnic lunch served. Mr. Adamson was presented with a leather-bound volume containing con-taining the Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, and Doctrine and Covenants, by the group. Tvrenty-eight Tvrenty-eight attended and several of them went to the farewell dance at the Apollo hall after the social. LaRee Whitby of Alpine was a special guest. Kimball Vance, a returned missionary mis-sionary of Salt Lake City, was the speaker at the regular sacrament meeting Sunday evening. His talk was enjoyed by a large and appreciative apprec-iative audience. The Primary association officers and teachers held their regular meeting and social at the home of Mrs. Nettie Waranski Monday evening. eve-ning. The lesson on the Doctrine and Covenants- was reviewed and a dainty lunch was enjoyed by the 14 attending. Clive Ingram, son of Mrs. Naomi Kent, who was seriously injured last week when he was run over by a truck, is getting along as well as can be expected. He is at the hospital hos-pital in Price.
