Show VIKING VIEWS In The News The American Fork Cavemen completely com-pletely outclassed the Pleasant Grove Vikings, Friday, on the A. F. court to win 38-27. The Forkers captured an early lead and fought hard to keep it throughout the game. P. G. couldn't seem to get going at all, and with the A. F. club playing inspired ball at all times the Cavemen won quite handily. Earl Holmstead was undoubtedly the outstanding man on the floor. Besides pouring through 19 points he played a great floor game. Byron Carter scored 15 points for the losers. A valentine theme was carried out in the Pep club march, Friday, February Feb-ruary 14. The Vi Queens marched on the floor and formed a C for the Cavemen. Then they made a heart. Then a T was made for the Viking team and an enthusiastic yell followed. follow-ed. The girls went off the floor in military formation. Another matinee dance was enjoyed en-joyed by the students of the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove high school, Moriday afternoon. Music was furnished by Howard Nelson's orchestra. Thursday, February 13, the Pleas-' Pleas-' ant Grove Girls' Basketball team gave American Fork's girls a trouncing, trounc-ing, the. score being 44-4. The game started out in favor of P. G. and the Cavewomen just could not get started. The girls playing are: Madge Hooley, Vergie Gillman, Virginia Vir-ginia Ellis, Helen Robinson, Jewell Paul, Ruth Hooley, and Lois Payne. The Home Living class under the direction of Mrs. Carlson will change to a sewing course for the next few weeks. The class has been cooking and taking up other home problems. SEMINARY PROGRAMS Sunday evening the sacrament meetings in Windsor, First and Third wards of the Timpanogos Stake, will be presented by the Seminary, under the guidance of William C. Smith. ' The students who participate have taken a great deal of time to prepare very worthwhile worth-while programs for the ward members. mem-bers. The programs are as follows: Third ward, talks will be given by John Hilton, Lucille Newman, Margaret Mar-garet Atwood, Ellen Richens, Mary Fugal, and Charles Christiansen. Reed Radmall will give a reading. Musical numbers will be given by Donna and Leslie Neves, and Stanley Stan-ley Weeks. Dale Fugal is the chairman chair-man in charge. In Windsor ward, the talks are to be given by Afton Backus, Jewell Walker, Leland , Shoell, Eava Richardson, Rich-ardson, Leland Baxter and Lois Alexander. Lois Hooley and Edith Stark will sing; Leon Hansen will play a clarinet solo. Louise Omer will present a reading. In the First ward, Jeanne 'West will sing a solo, and Forrest Cullimore Culli-more will also sing a number. Bliss Jarvis is going to give a reading, and June West will act as chairman. The talks will be given by the following people; Calvin Fenton, Louise Armit-stead, Armit-stead, Therold Bullock, Lona Walker, LuJean Olpin, Paul Adamson, and Aiko Inabu. |
