The South has had a terrible time in the last eight months, worse than it would confess. But the hardship has taught one lesson that the South needed, and nothing short of prostration prostra-tion in cotton prices could teach it, says Dry Farm Bulletin. The South Is reducing Its cotton acreage. It should have been reduced long ago. And now that it has been reduced it ' should be kept down. And there is only one royal road to this devoutly-to-be-wished consummation, and that is diversification of crops.
