Show Jorgen P. Brown, one of Scip-! io's best known ' and most res-1 pected residents, died at his home here, on July 28th, and was buried bur-ied from the ward meeting house on Friday at 10, a. m. Mr. Brown was born in Denmark, coming to Utnh when a boy and ; to Scipio in 1867. He leaves a widow, four sons and two daughters daugh-ters to mourn his loss. The funeral services were very largely large-ly attended and the floral tributes trib-utes many and beautiful. Speakers Speak-ers were: Jesse Martin, W. I. Hatch, Pres. Thompson and Bishop Tompson. Each testified to the examplary life and character char-acter of the deceased. 'Interment 'Inter-ment was in the Scipio cemetery. Relatives from out of town attending at-tending the funeral were: A. Nelson and S. Siminson of Salt Lake City, Chas. Stephenson and family of Nephi, Mrs. Arthur Whiting, of Monroe, Mrs. Mary Hanson and Mrs. Annie Hanson of Salina. Scipio Sallies I i Miss Emma Pack, of Kamas, is the guest of Lillian Thompson.1 Roy Monroe and family of Garfield are visiting relatives here. Marvin Hatch is threatened( with blood poisoning in an ulcer-1 ated tooth. Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Stephensen of Nephi, spent the 24th here. Mr.s. Herbert Van Dam, of Salt Lake City spent ten days with her aunt, Mrs. H. Esklund. ! Mrs, Maria Quarnberg and1 daughter Mrs. Wm. Wiseman of Salt Lake City are guests of F, Quarnberg, Frank Hatch and family of Salt Lake are visiting his parents, par-ents, W. I. Hatch and wife. Dora Yates and Pink Ivie returned re-turned from Salt Lake on Saturday.' Satur-day.' Mr. Smart, of Fillmore, comes here every Monday now, with his moving picture show. Mr. and Mrs. Doodey, of Mount Pleasant, spent Sunday with Mrs. Doodeys mother, Mrs. Sarah Miller. The Confectionery does a land office business these hot days. George Nixon, Jr, and family and Edward Stevens and family of Holden spent Sunday with relatives here. Messrs. Critchley and Clothier of Fillmore finished the brick work on Carl Browns house Monday. Mon-day. They left on Tuesday for Oasis to put up the new bank building there. Several jobs here are awaiting their return. |
