Show In nominating Jtlchaul "NV. Young for the Supreme bench our Democratic Demo-cratic friends certainly had no other idea than to nominate a man, who for one reason or another would probably pulJ more otes than any other man they could put up qualifications el-dentiy el-dentiy cutting no flgute. Young was educated along military lines, graduated gradu-ated fiom West Point and has alwajs held military positions. It will be remembered re-membered that he recruited soldiers in tills Sate and sened In the Philippine Philip-pine war. After ills return he decided to go in for law and and is now a candidate can-didate for the highest otllce In the Judicial line. With practically no experience ex-perience as a lawjer and less as a judge he has the curontery to stay on the ticket and run against a man of such unquestioned ability and capacity capaci-ty as Judge W. M. MtCarty. It is said in hlsfaor tliat lie comes from an illiistilous family. This Is not denied, de-nied, but will the halo cast round a head by Illustrious family lelatlons fit amilitaiy man for a responsible judicial judi-cial position? It would be nothing moie than Justice to otcis of the state, and tho exercise of common prudence on Mr. Young's part for him to get oir the ticket and make tilings unanimous for Judge McCarty. |
