Show High School Seminary Holds Pre-registralion Rex Spackman, seminary principal, prin-cipal, announces that the L D S Seminary in Cedar City is now conducting its pre-registration of students for next school year. The Seminary faculty emphasizes empha-sizes the need for students registering reg-istering at the seminary building, since registration for religious instruction is not done in the public schools. The purpose of the Seminary is to provide religious instruction instruc-tion to students while they are engaged in their regular studies. The LD S Church maintains that regular week day religious learn, ing coupled with secular learning learn-ing should contribute to a more balanced, happy and better ad-Justed ad-Justed life for the student. With the addition of a Seminary Semin-ary Coordinator to the Seminary teaching staff the coming year will offer a richer program than heretofore. Frank Day of Shelley, Idaho, will fill this position. A. M. Rasmussen, public school teacher for the past eight years, will also be a new addition to the Seminary faculty. A large enrollment is expect-ed expect-ed this year and students are urged to register early to secure classes they want. The Seminary faculty is ready to help any student stu-dent with scheduling of classes. To graduate from Seminary a student must complete three years of study Including the Old Testament, New Testament, and Church History, one-half unit of credit Is offered for each of the first two courses by the public schools. A fourth year course is also given for which a special certificate of achievement is awarded. A $100. scholarship Is awarded award-ed to one outstanding student In the fourth year class each year. This scholarship is based on grades, service, character, and religious activity. |
