Show Park Superintendent Tells Plans For Public Hearings Paul R. Franke, Zion National Nation-al Park Superintendent, has announced an-nounced that public hearings on land acquisitions for the expan-sion expan-sion of the national parks and monuments under the Mission 66 program will be held early in June. The hearings will be held under un-der the direction of the Bureau of Land Management for the purpose of giving everyone an opportunity to express himself on plans for land use as presented pre-sented by the Park Service. Of particular Interest to people peo-ple of this Immediate vicinity is the acquisition of land adjacent adja-cent to Zion National Park. It Is proposed to add 3,528 acres to the park area. Of this 1,515 acres is public domain and 2,013 acres Is private land. |
