Geraldine Douglas Becomes Bride In Home Ceremony ; Mrs. John C. Gower announces the marriage of her granddaugh-ter, granddaugh-ter, Geraldine Douglas to Gordon Shearer on May 4. The wedding iHTPmony was berformed at thei home of Mrs. Gower by Bishop Paul Stokes. The bride is a former for-mer Cedar City resident and the bridegroom Is from Salt Lake City. Following the nuptial exchange ex-change a reception was held in honor of the couple. The new Mrs. Shearer greeted guests In a lovely white sheath dress. She wore a white hat, plastic plas-tic slippers and carried a bouquet bou-quet leaturing pink roses. Attending the bride were Mrs. Robert Simkins and Rae Reese. Performing the duties of best man was Paul Douglas, brother of the bride! The newly weds left following the reception for a short honey-moon honey-moon after which they returned to Salt Lake City where they will make their home. Mr. Shearer Shear-er plans to continue his studies at the University of Utah and Mrs. Douglas will resume her employment. Other guests at the wedding included Mrs. Evelyn Shearer, mother of ths brodegroom, from Iowa; Mrs. Merrill Klmber. aunt of the bride, and daughter Lucille Lu-cille from Elk3, Nev.; Mrs. Harriet Har-riet Wisser and children of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Davis and family of Kanarra-villc; Kanarra-villc; M-s. Mildred Reese and daughters of Murray, Mrs. John Stirton and son from Las Vegas. Nov.; Mrs. Jane Grimshaw, Mrs. Cordia Quinn and Charea stew-art stew-art of California The bride is the daughter of th latf Ernest and Verda Gow-er Gow-er Douglas. |
