Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SWING Mrs. Kola Kupfer An early spring vacation has recently been enjoyed by the Garth Webster family. Mr. and Mrs. Webster and their sons, Danny, Dan-ny, Kenneth and Robert, with their house trailer In tow spent ten days sightseeing In Southern California. Upon their travel itinerary it-inerary were San Diego where they visited the iamous zoo, Disneyland Dis-neyland with its many thrills and marvels, and last but not least, Marlneland. Before returning return-ing home the family enjoyed a two day visit with Don Webster, a cousin. The Ladles of Elks will hold their first meeting on May 5 In the Elks Lodge basement at 8:00 p. m. under the leadership of the new officers. All members are urged to attend. Those who have not Joined are urged to cume rut and actively Join the organize. I ; tlon. The coming convention will be discussed. A surprize "Pot of Gold" Is in store for anyone who Is a paid up member or who Joins at the meeting. Entertaining Saturday evening even-ing were Mr. and Mrs. Max Richsteig. Guests for th evening even-ing were members of their couples club. Following light refreshments re-freshments pinochle was played with high scores being made by Mr. and Mrs. Jay Ramsey and Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Keetch. Mrs. L. Robert Gardner gave a most Interesting review of "The Exodus" on Wednesday evening as members of the Chere Amies i club met at the home of Mrs. Vern Kupfer. Enjoying the review re-view with the 17 club members present were hostess guests Mrs. iFred Getz, Mrs. Howard Foulger, ' and Mrs. Reed Thomson. In keeping keep-ing with the Middle East setting of the review the hostess served a chicken salad with the native flat bread so common In that section sec-tion of the world. Playing pinochle on Friday were members of Mrs. James Hoyle's club. The ladies were served a delicious refreshment prior to the evening's same. High score ladies were Mrs. Robert Reld, Mrs. J. D. Docksteader and Mrs. Pete Nelson. Spending a few days In Las Vegas to enjoy the shows and Nevada sunshine are Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Boulter and Miss Marlene Benson. Salt Lake City was the week end spot for Mr. and Mrs. Blaine H. Johnson. They visited during their stay with friends and" were the guests of Mrs. Doris Tanner. As the Hey Cedars swung their partners on Saturday evening they were, pleased to have as their special guests Mr. nnd Mrs. Mayo Rich of Tropic. During the evening Mr. Rich entertained the group by calling several numbers. num-bers. It was a Western hoe-down for the College cf Southern Utah faculty and partners on Saurdav evening. Dancing In the little ballroom the group was later treated to hamburgers by the committee headed by George Barms. Mrs. Marie Murdock was hostess hos-tess to her sewing club Moiday evening. The ladles enjoyed visiting vis-iting as they sewed, making for a pleasant evening. Light refreshments re-freshments were later served by the hostess. Mr. and Mr. Darwin Nelson spent several days last w 'k visiting vis-iting in Salt Lake City with their son and daughter-in-law and family, Mr. and Mrs. Blair Nelson. Nel-son. Week end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Murdoch were Mrs. Murdoch's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Shlppee of Salt Lake City. The farm home of Mrs. Carlos Jones was the scene for a pleasant pleas-ant gathering of the Ami Fidel club ladies on Friday. Hostess for the affair was Zella McCon-nelL McCon-nelL Ten, members were served a delicious luncheon and visiting occupied the afternoon. Business and pleasure were combined as Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cardon spent the week end in Salt Lake City. They visited visit-ed with family members who reside re-side in that area and also with Mrs. Sargent's parents, Mr. and Mrs. David I Sargent, who are enroute to Hawaii. Easter Sunday and the week that followed was spent by Mrs. Ward Robb in LaJolla, California. Mrs. Robb and son Scott accompanied accom-panied Mr. Robb to California as he traveled to attend a Registrar's Regis-trar's conference in Los Angeles. During the week Mrs. Robb and son were guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Saw Bowser In their beachside home. |
