Show PAMGOIIflH HEWS NOTES I By Hilma Lamorcaux Mr. andTUrs. Cyril Parner have received news of the marriage of their son Leland B Partner, who has been living in El Cajon, Calif, for almost a year. Leland claimed Miss Linda Sue Gorton as his bride In a ceremony performed per-formed at Yuma, Ariz, on July l29. The young people are now at ' home In El Cajon. Mr. Partner is employed by Sears-Roebuck Co. Saturday was a happy time for the Austin Bartons as their son Hanks and his wife and son arrived ar-rived here from Baumbholder, Germany. Hanks has been In Germany for the past four years and this Is his wife's first look at the U. S. A.. They arrived by plane last week. The family will visit here for the next few weeks before Sgtlc Barton has to report re-port to Fort Knox, Ky. for his next assignment which will be as an ROTC instructor. Mr. and Mrs. John C Barton were happy to have week end visitors at their home. Mrs. Barton's Bar-ton's nephew, Leo Reynolds and his wife and two daughters came from Ogden and after an over-night over-night stay here they continued on to Grand Canyon. J Mrs. Dortha Barton and son Dee and Lynn and Craig of Or-derville Or-derville arrived In town Monday Mon-day accompanied by Mrs. Barton's Bar-ton's father, Binnle Sorenson. They came on business matters and to get young Kyle Barton who has been visiting here with his grandparents, the John C Bartons. The other two boys were to remain here for a week's visit Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Abbott were here from Murray recently to get their son Elliott who had spent most of the summer here with his grandmother, Mrs. Myrtle Myr-tle Abbott. Mr. and Mrs. Orion Lamoreiux and their family were over-night guests at the Chester Robinson home last week end. They were enroute from Provo to Henderson, Nev. where Orion has a teaching teach-ing position for the coming year. Miss Janet Hunt arrived home Tuesday after a two weeks' trip to the Hill Cumorah Pageant. She made the trip with her aunt, Mrs. Pearl Rogers of Cedar City, and in addition to attending the pageant pag-eant the bus tour included traveling trav-eling along the old Mormon Trull. Miss Carol Jo Shldeler of Silt, Colo., arrived here Monday of la3t week to spend some time visiting with relatives and to attend at-tend the - wedding reception for her cousin, Helen Jean Dalton. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Inglesby of Salt Lake City were also here for the week end to attend the wedding wed-ding reception for Annette's sis-er. sis-er. When the Inglesbys returned to the city Sunday they were accompanied ac-companied by Carol Jo Shldeler who will be attending beauty school there. Relatives . here have received word of the birth of a son to Roger and Katherlne Smith of Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Antone Robinson of Salt Lake City spent several days here last week visiting with Antone's granlparents, Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Robinson and other relatives In the area. Miss Ivy Robinson was home from Cedar City for a week fcnd visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. K. Doyle Robinson. Mr. aA Mrs. Kenneth Mitchell and their three sons recently returned re-turned to their home In Weed Heights, Nev., following a vacation vaca-tion visit here with the Austin Barton family. They also visited with Ken's mother, Jane B. Richards, Rich-ards, In Parowan and other relatives rela-tives In this area. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Anderson and their children of Kanab spent a couple of days here last week with the James 1L Anderson An-derson family. Bad news came from Rlverton, Wyo., last week telling of a serious ser-ious accident which befell Roger Da Hey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Law-rence Dalley, former resident of Paragonah. The boy was traveling travel-ing with members of a class who were driving some distance to go horseback riding. The other lung filled with fluid and severe internal inter-nal hemorrhages developed. Mrs. Olive Edwards is home again after a long visit in Kearns and Salt Lake City with the John Poster and Velma Edwards families. fam-ilies. A number of Paragonah people peo-ple attended the Father's and Son's banquet held Saturday evening eve-ning at the Five Mile. They reported re-ported a very fine time. Of Interest to many is the announcement an-nouncement from Beaver that Wayne Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith has received a call to go on a mission to Canada Cana-da for the LDS Church. A farewell fare-well testimonial was being held during the week and he is to enter en-ter the mlsison home Aug. 29. Mrs. Pauline Topham was in Cedar City on Monday to attend a Republican Ladies' tea held at the CSU library lounge. Mr. and Mrs. Marion Engle-stead Engle-stead who have been spending the summer here have received word of their release from the St. George Temple. They have served as ordinance workers for the past six years. The Englesteads are former residents of Panguitch. Mrs. LaPrlel Linford and her family of Henderson have been visiting with Mrs. Gwen Jones for the past week and have now gone to the northern part of the state for a week, accompanied by Mrs. Nellie Englestead. Kenneth Topham was home from Bryce Canyon for the week end. Ronald Topham made a trip to ' Salt Lake City recently to enroll In the vocational school there. He returned to Zlon Canyon to his work until the school begins on Sept 13. Mrs. Arthur Evans and her daughter Sherry Dawn traveled to Salt Lake City on Friday of, last week and returned home the following day. They made the trip with members of the Osmer Nielsen family. Glen Halterman and E. Ray Lyman of the Stake High Council were the visiting speakers in. Sacrament meeting on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Victor R. Robin-son Robin-son and their children of Price) were here from Thursday to Sunday Sun-day Of last week. They visited with relatives and attended to business mathers. Keiffer of Bountiful has Joined the Reserve forces and is leaving for Texas Tex-as for six months training. |
