Show NEWCASTLE By Norma Christonsea ' Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Piatt this past week were some of their children: Mrs. Roberta Clark and daughter Bonnie Bon-nie of Cedar City; and Mr. and Mrs. Miles (Delia) Hunt , and family of Pleasant Grove. ,. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stratton Strat-ton and their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Arden Stratton, r.U of Hurricane, were visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Trusten Hart ' - Visitors this week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norma Hulet were Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Wag-ner, Wag-ner, who were married last week. They were enroute ' to Provo where Mr. Wagner will attend school this fall. Mrs. Wagner is Nita Rae's sister, Ina. They also brought the little Hulet girls, Rita Ri-ta and Laura, home, after they had stayed with their grandparents, grandpar-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Re-ber Re-ber of Mesquite, Nev., for the past week. Mr. and Mrs. Doug (Sharon) Seals and family of Tooele, were visitors this week at the home of Fern and Effie Beacham, and also Mr. and Mrs. George Beach-am Beach-am who is building fence and staying temporarly in Hamblin Valley, drove in to visit with his sister and her family. Sherman's son Rodney, who has been out there with his father, rode to Salt Lake City with the Seal family, so he could get ready for school. Mr. and Mrs. Vern (Mary Lou) Malley of Monterey Park, Calif., were visitors last week at the home of their folks, Mr. and Mrs. C E. Hart and also the Charles, Trusten and William Hart families. fam-ilies. The Uvada Stake quarterly conference was held Sunday in the Enterprise chapel. Visitors from Salt Lake City and Brother Ellred of the Welfare Committee, Commit-tee, and Elder Theodore Turtle of the Council of Seventy. All of the meetings were very inspiring and a large number of townspeople towns-people attended. Funeral services were held last Thursday in the Newcastle Ward Hall for Kenneth Gillies, who was killed in an auto-truck accident acci-dent Invocation was given by Stirling Tullis. Opening song, "Rest, Test Ye Weary Soul," was sung by the Newcastle Ward Singing Mothers. Talks were given giv-en by Clair Hulet of Parowan and Fred Gillies of Las Vegas. A solo, "A Perfect Day," was sung by Mrs. Carma Beacham. Bishop Mont Sorensen gave a few remarks. re-marks. Closing song, "Goin Home," was sung by the Singing Sing-ing Mothers, and the benediction was given by Gordon Knell. Rumen Ru-men Gardner dedicated the grave. The services were very nice, and every one of Geneva's children was able to attend. |
