Show Cedar Stake, Local Merchants Promote Food Storage Action has been taken by officials offi-cials of Cedar LDS Stake in cooperation co-operation with merchants of Cedar Ce-dar City to promote the storing of food for emergency purposes as advocated by the Church and by Civil Defense leaders, according accord-ing to Elwood J. Corry, stake president. A committee composed of Lowell Low-ell Sherratt, chairman, and Frank Petty, will coordinate the program pro-gram which Is designed to offer special storageable items for sale in the stores of Cedar City at reduced prices. Special items will be offered every two weeks and will be available at any of the grocery outlets of the community. First items to be offered at the special price will be 35 pound cans of recleaned wheat and x pound cans of whole wheat and white flour. All of the units are hermetically sealed. The 35 pound can for reclaimed wheat will be sold at $2.99 and the whole wheat and white flour will be sold at $2.79 and $2.89, respectively. re-spectively. These Items will be on special at all stores beginning Monday, Aug. 29 and will continue at the reduced price through Saturday, Sept 10, after which a new item will be featured, Sherratt stated. In addition special five gallon storage cans will be available 'as a part of the program to promote pro-mote emergency food stores in homes in this area. |
