Show Iron County Queen ' Contest Scheduled for Sept. 2 It was announced today by Pic Webster, chairman of the Miss Iron County Queen Pageant, that final plans have been completed com-pleted for this year's presentation of the annual event. j The gala affair will proudly put on a display of talent and beauty of nine girls from the Iron County area. The pageant sponsored by the Cedar City Junior Chamber of 'Commerce will be presented Frl-Iday Frl-Iday evening, Sept. 2 at 8 p. m. 'at the College of Southern Utah auditorium In Cedar City. ! The public has been invited to attend this once-a-year event which promises to be unmatched in variety events. The queen candidates, in addition addi-tion to their display of talent, will parade in evening gowns and in bathing suits. I A queen and two attendants will be named and they will reign over activities of the Iron County Fair to be held in Parowan Paro-wan Sept 3, 4 and 5 and will also al-so be entered in the Miss Utah Contest later this fall. Nine candidates and their sponsors are as follows: MISS Ivlarjurie mujrie, uCaiariti .Valley Women's Club; Judy Leonard, Leon-ard, State Bank of Southern Utah; Darlene Thornton, Parowan Paro-wan Exchange Club; Barbara Ann Graff, Parowan Post American Ameri-can Legion and Auxiliary; Joanne Jo-anne Lunt, Cowley Drug; Judy Hall, Park N Shop; Avey Mathe-son, Mathe-son, Candy Trailer Sales; Bobette j Bauer, Cedar Glass Co., and Jan Jackson, Aspen Lakes. Program director and hostess for the event will be Mrs. Loren :A. Whetten, and master of ceremonies cere-monies will be Frank Petty. Final plans also Include popular pop-ular vocal numbers by the "To-na "To-na Cords," a highly entertaining recording group from Salt Lake jCity. |
