Show Cedar High School Prepares To Welcome Students Student registration at the Cedar Ce-dar City High School will be conducted con-ducted on Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 29 and 30 with regular class work to get under way on Wednesday, Wed-nesday, Aug. 31, according to P. M. bothers, principal. This week letters have gone out to all high school students informing them of the procedure proced-ure for registration for classes and information relative to books and schedules. Seniors and juniors will register regis-ter on Monday, Aug. 29. Seniors will register from 9 a. rru to noon and Juniors from 1 p. m. to 4 p. Sophomore students will regis-; ter Tuesday morning, Aug. 30 from 9 to noon. Registration will be conducted in the gymnasium. Teacners will be there to re-check spring registration reg-istration and complete daily class schedules which have been worked work-ed out by the faculty during the summer. Some revisions in class schedules sched-ules have been necessitated owing ow-ing to minor changes brought about through a faculty workshop work-shop held in connection with the Stanford University planning lab oratory during the summer months. Changes will be explained explain-ed to students at the time" of registration. Changes are basically basic-ally in the business department. Principal Bethers also explained explain-ed to students that the regular rental fee of $5.00 for books, with $1.00 to be returned at the end of the school year, would be attempted at-tempted again this year. School district has found, however, that costs of books has increased to the point where text books are costing several hundred dollars above the rental fee each year. It is likely that this is the last year that the rental fee will remain re-main at this level, he said. Type books must be purchased by students this year, Bethers stated, where in the past these books have also been included in the rental program. Reason for the charge is that books have been taken from the school by students and never returned. Students were also advised that there will be no school insurance in-surance coverage. Question of in sura nee has been raised in the past, but it was found unfeasible unfeasi-ble for most of the students are covered by the family in other insurance programs. Kay ileywood, editor of the yearbook for the year, announced , that the subscriptions would remain re-main the same this year. Subscriptions Sub-scriptions will be sold at the time of registration at $4.50 per book. |
