Show IRON COUNTY SCHOOLS OPEN DOORS MONDAY, AUGUST 29TH School bells for the 1960-61 1 year will ring for students of the Iron County School system Monday Mon-day morning, Aug. 29 at 9 a. m. Elementary schools in Cedar City, Parowan, Paragonah, Kanarra-ville Kanarra-ville and the Escalante Valley, the Cedar Junior High School and High Schools in Parowan and Cedar Ce-dar City, will begin Instruction on that day, according to Superintendent Super-intendent lanthus Wright An Increase of enrollment has been anticipated for the school year; however, it will be slight. In preparation for the opening administrators, instructors and townspeople are participating in an institute which began Wednesday Wed-nesday and will be concluded Thursday evening. Friday faculties of the various schools will meet at the schools for special instruction and preparation pre-paration of rooms for the opening open-ing and on Saturday an orientation orienta-tion for new instructors will be held. New teachers will be In-'troduced In-'troduced to the educational phll- ' ' t - osophies of the district and become be-come acquainted with the district, dis-trict, its tsaff and methods of operations, op-erations, Wright said. Biggest change in the school year approaching will be the change in attendance at the three elementary schools in Cedar City. Five classroom additions at the North Elementary and four additional classrooms in the East Elementary will lighten the load in the South Elementary for the school year, necessitating a change in elementary schools for a number of children. North Elementary All pupils north of Center Street nd west of Main. SECOND GRADE East Elementary All pupils east of Main, Including east side of Main. THIRD GRADE East Elementary All pupils east of Main, including both sides of Main and pupils transported trans-ported on New Harmony bus. South Elementary All pupils south of Center and west of Main and pupils transported on the Kanarra bus.
