Show Senator Moss Calls Attention to Academy Openings Senator Frank E. Moss this week reminded high school seniors sen-iors that those interested in receiving re-ceiving his nominations to U. S. Service Academies must have applications ap-plications in Washington by September Sep-tember 20. The Iron County Record at 115 North Main has application forms, which students may obtain ob-tain by coming in or vr'tir.. Senator Moss emphasized the fact that his nominations are made on the basis of competitive examinations. Tests for students who wish to enter the academies In July, 1961, will be conducted in Utah this November, he said. Nominations will be made to: The U. S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, the U. S. Military Mili-tary Academy at West Point, the U. S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Anna-polis, and the U. S. Merchant Marine Academy at King's Point, N. Y. Final selections will be made by the schools on the basl; of physical and scholastic examinations. examina-tions. Senator Moss said that male residents of the State of Utah can qualify if they are citizens of the U.S.A., unmarried, of good moral character, in good physical condition, high school graduates and at least 17, but not more than 22 years of age on the 1st day of July of 1961. |
