Show I Parowan Treasurer Appointment Deferred At a special meeting of the Parowan City Council last week, to consider applications for the position of Parowan City treasurer, treasur-er, applications from four persons were read and considered but because be-cause of a misunderstanding, the final selection for an appointee to fill the job was deferred until un-til another meeting called for Aug. 28, states Mayor "Howard Joseph. The misunderstanding among applicants and council members came about over the number of hours the person must be in the ofllce each day and how many days each week, as well as other wcrk the office entails. There was also some question regarding regard-ing the salary, which is $125 per month at the present time, .and also as to whether the appolnt-tec appolnt-tec should be a man or woman. As a result the applications already al-ready received will be held over and further applications will be received at the city office until the special meeting on the 28th, Mayor Joseph states. I Iron County Fair Manager, D. A Stones, met with the council seeking the support of the city 'administration In the coming Iron County Fair to be held here on Sept 3, 4 and 5. The council pledged the support of the city's facilities wholeheartedly toward this year's fair, according to Mr. Joseph. |
