Show Living in the Escalante Valley Mrs. Georgia Moyle The meeting for the month of May of the Escalante Valley Coordinating Co-ordinating Council was held as (BeJection of new officers along WWf the regular meeting which was conducted by President Jack Moyle. Mrs. Alene Smith was elected to succeed Mr. Moyle as president presi-dent of the council with Georgia Moyle succeeding Calvin Metier as vkv president. Any changes that may be made in the representative repre-sentative committees will be done by appointment. The following committeemen reported: John McGary on building build-ing fund, Bryner wood reported on the park and telephones, Mr. Wood also reported that the fire engine was in working order; ! Gordon Moyle reported on the airport and on water and power, stating that there would be a seasonal arrangement this year on power rather than the usual monthly demand. Alene Smith reported on the Y-Z Trail and in regards to Gospel Wings minis ters from Phoenix that were involved in-volved in the plane take-olf accident. ac-cident. Phyllis Wood rejiorted for the ; Women's club stating that there would be an upholstery class at the Valley from July 12 to 16 under the direction of the Iron : County Home Demonstrator if enough persons were interested. Roads for the school bus route for the coming year weie discussed. dis-cussed. WOMEN'S CLUB Mary Moyle was hostess at her home Thursday evening, May 20, j for the Escalante Valley Women's Club. Francis Piper acted as co-hostess. co-hostess. Conducting was president presi-dent Phyllis Wood. After the regular re-gular club meeting the time was then spent playing table games with Dorothy Gardner, Georgia Moyle, Marie Phelps, Marian McGary, Mc-Gary, Edith Force. Alene Smith and Mrs. David Piper winning prizes. Door prize was also won by Mrs. Edith Force. LIONS A number of Lions and Ladies enjoyed the annual Zone social held at Zion Pa Saturday evening, eve-ning, May 22. Among those attending at-tending were Escalante Lions President John McGary and his mother, Mrs. Miriam McGary; Mr. and Mrs. Bryner Wood, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph DelVccchio, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Phelps, Mr. and Mrs. Austin Moyle, Mr. ami M's. Hunt and other friends and relatives of southern t'tah is a sister of Mr. Hum, Miss Jennie Hunt, from Idaho. A number of Valley residents attended the regional dance festival festi-val at St. George on Saturday. May 22. Mrs. Augusta Hunt and Mrs. Georgia Moyle attended the l'-vada l'-vada Stake Sunday School pre paration meeting at New Castle Sunday evening, May Z1. Mrs. Jnck Moyle went to St. George Saturday to attend a wedding wed-ding and open house for Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Waite. |
