Show Yankee Reservoir Road Open For Limited Travel To satisfy his and several more people's curiosity, Ralph Orton made a trip to the Yankee Res- ! ervoir last week end to see if he could get there with his pickup, and what water conditions were . tike I He states that he made It with-'out with-'out difficulty, encountering only ', two or three small banks of snow i in the road, but that he didn't i think It advisable for passenger I ears to try it. And with the storm I of the first of the week conditions 'would be worsened. ; Ralph states that the open flats 'are now mostly bare but that snow in the timber surrounding the reservoir was still from 3 to 1 4 feet deep. He states that there lis ft good sized stream of water coming into the reservoir from 'the creek at the north end, but ,that he couldn't get to the south end of the lake. He also adds that there' are still patches of ice on the reservoir, with the i water being well up on the dam and into the neck in front of the old Gun and Rod Club cabin. |
