Show CEDAR CITY SOCIAL SVING I Mr. and Mrs. Thornton Jones are leaving this week end for a seven day trip which will take them first ft) Price, Utah, where they will attend farewell services ser-vices for Mrs. Jones's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Thom-as Christensenj The Christensens are leaving to serve in the LDS Southwest Indian Mission field. Following their visit to Price they will travel on to Salt Lake City where they will visit with Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Grames and family and the Carl Taylor family. fa-mily. Virginia Webster It's beginning to look like holiday ho-liday time at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Hendrlcs in Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Hen-dries Hen-dries have been doing some early ear-ly yule entertaining. Monday, Dec. 3, they enjoyed the company of Mr. Lanell Lunt. Later in the week, Mr. and Mrs. T. E. Murray along with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Shumate Joined with Charles and Donna lor a social. Further dinner din-ner arrangements were underway December 10th at the Hendrics home with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Stevens and family as their special spe-cial guests. H. H. CLUB The Little Kitchen was the scene for the early December social which welcomed members of the H. II. Club. Hostess for the Thursday occasion last week was Mrs. Arvilla Marsden. Ten members of the club were in attendance along with Mrs. LaPrael Lunt who was invited as a guest. Entertaining the group during the affair was Mrs. W. Dick Leigh. Mrs. Leigh presented "The Desert Song" and "Babes' in Toy Land" on record as she told the hl-lites of both musical shows. Plans were made for the Christmas Christ-mas party to be held December 20 at the home of club member Arvilla Adams. II. H. officers are making arrangements for the affair. EN AVANTE CLUB The annual En Avante Christmas Christ-mas party was In the making at the home of Zola Dover last Wednesday evening. All twenty-one twenty-one members of the group were present for the occasion which was sparked with a holiday spirit spir-it amid the colorful, decor of yule design. Each of the ladies were recipients reci-pients of an individual corsage. Following a delicious buffet dinner din-ner everyone enjoyed hearing Claudia Forsyth give a Christmas story by Lincoln Steffens. In charge of the event were Claudiaa Forsyth as chairman, Zola Dover, Carmen Jones, lone Bradshaw and Marlynn Barrus as committee members. WE AK AVI S Thirteen members of the We Ak Avi's met at the home of Clair Jones last week for their club social. Special guest for the occasion was Irene Palmer. During Dur-ing the session Zoe Palmer gave the first of a series of lessons from "The Horizon Book of Lost Worlds" by Leonard Cottrell. The informative historical review re-view followed a brief general review of the study course planned plan-ned for the coming year, and dealt mainly on the "Flowering of Egypt." Early civilization and historical contributions of Egypt were included In Mrs. Palmer's lesson. Mrs. Emma Nelson, secretary and reporter for the Reading Club, stated that the organization organiza-tion had recently donated a reasonable rea-sonable sum of money to the College Col-lege of Southern Utah Library fund. In behalf of the Reading Club members the money was presented to College Librarian, Tom Challis, by Annette Beten-sen Beten-sen and Emma Nelson. Officials of the Wool Growers' Auxiliary wish to encourage all contestants of the "Make It Yourself With Wool" program to complete their specific articles before they become too Involved with the holiday social season. The contestants are reminded that the District contest will be staged in Cedar City January 4. Pinochle club was In session Tuesday evening at the home of Gayle Adams. In addition to regular re-gular club members being in attendance, at-tendance, Mrs. Adams Invited Mrs. J. H. Burns and Mrs. Con Smith to Join in the fun. Mr. and Mrs. Kenyon Parry and family and Robert and Carla Johnson and children enjoyed a trip to Page, Ariz. The families traveled from Cedar City to the Dam-site where they enjoyed touring the area.
