Show Board of Directors of Southern Utah Fundation Names President, Officers Robert B. White, cashier at State Bank of Southern Utah, was named as president of the board of directors of the recently formulated Southern Utah Foundation Foun-dation at an organizational meeting meet-ing of the board of directors held this week. Named as Vce President was Francis Betenscn with Hazen Cooley to serve as secretary and treasurer. White announced following the meeting that Patrick H. Fenton was retained as attorney for the Foundation and that plans were moving ahead to complete the incorporation of the non-profit organization early in January 1963.. The Southern Utah Foundation will be dedicated to the advancement advance-ment of educational and cultural developments of the area and will principally solicit money and other contributions as a tax exempt organization capable of receiving tax-exempt donations from organizations and concerns who cannot or who will not donate do-nate to state institutions. It was also announced that Charter memberships will be accepted ac-cepted by the Foundation until January 1, Charter memberships will close at that time. Fee for 1 charter membership ia $5, as established es-tablished at a public meeting at which the Initial board of directors direct-ors were named. Other board members include Dr. R. W. Farnsworth, Dr. John Beal, Ry L. Halversen, L. Robert Gardner, Dixie Leavitt and Warren War-ren H. Bulloch. Charter memberships will be accepted at either of the banks in Cedar City or by mailing to Mr. Cooley, care of College of Southern Utah. Articles of incorporation are expected to be readied this month in preparation for presentation to the state in January. The original ori-ginal board of directors will serve as the incorporators. The organization is to be a non-profit concern and no stocks or dividends will be issued. Investment In-vestment of and dispersement of contributions will be at the discretion dis-cretion of the board of directors. |
