Show College Library Gains Significant Book Contributions A number of significant contributions con-tributions have been received recently re-cently by the College of Southern South-ern Utah Library, according to A. T. Challis, librarian. Included Includ-ed In the gifts have been forty-seven forty-seven books and several periodicals periodi-cals donated by Mr. and Mrs. Charles R. Hunter of Cedar City. Some of the book titles are: "Man and God" by Gollanz, Ro-get's Ro-get's "Thesaurus," Black's Law Dictionary," "Lt Hornblower" by Forester. "The Exploration of Space" by Clark, "Selected Poetry" Poe-try" of Robert Browning, "Secretaries' "Secre-taries' Handbook" by Tainter and Monroe, and portifolios 7, 8, 9 and 10 of the "Metropolitan Seminars Se-minars in Art" Seventeen volumes of medical books, Thomas Nelson and Sons "Review of Literature of Medicine Medi-cine and Surgery;" were donated to the library by Mr. and Mrs. David L. Sharp, jr., now living In Logan, Utah. Mr. Sharp taught Animal Husbandry at the BAC from 1913 to 1919 and was instrumental in-strumental in getting the first sheep for the college from several sever-al outstanding herds in the valley. val-ley. Mrs. Sharp was secretary to Director Roy F. Homer. Dr. Willard F. Llbby, Nobel Prize winner from University of California at Los Angeles, sent a check for five dollars to the Library Li-brary development Foundation to be used for the CSU library. Oth-er Oth-er book contributions have been received from Dr. Blaine Johnson, Percival Jackson, Frank Faux, Carmen C. Jones, Standard Oil of California, Fred C. Adams, Fred H. Harrington, Milton Hyatt, Dr. and Mrs. Royden C. Braithwaite, Mr. and Mrs. Graham MacDon-aid. MacDon-aid. Kent E. Myers, Lorin C. Miles, Celcstia Ashdown, Mrs. Vernee Frame, Dr. Wesley Larsen and the Cedar City Drama Club. |
