Show MAKE LISTING OF MOST NEEDED BOOKS College of Southern Utah Library Development Foundation Goals Set The Library Development Foundation, which Is currently working to build the CSU Library Libra-ry from 28,00 to 70,000 volumes, has had many inquiries from Interested In-terested patrons as to what the library most urgently needs. The greatest need, of course, Is money. Added funds will naturally na-turally speed the development of the library toward the goal It seeks to attain and thus will ex-pedlte ex-pedlte accreditation of CSU as a four-year liberal arts college. Monetary gifts of any size will be gratefully accepted and publicly pu-blicly acknowledged. Books themselves are valuable gifts and will be appreciated. Donors will be published and each gift book will have a beautiful beau-tiful gift plate Inserted honoring the person donating it Tim following fol-lowing list Is not in priority or der, and la possibly Incomplete, but It represents the areas of greatest need In the library at the present time: i Children's Literature recently re-cently published fiction, poetry, collections and factual books for younger readers, through high school. Scientific Books published primarily In the past five years. Books are needed for reference in zoology, biology, bacterology, medicine, physics, electrical engineering, en-gineering, radio and electronics, nuclear physics, chemistry, aeronautical aero-nautical engineering, missiles, modern Industries, mathematics, geology and mineralogy. Social Sciences psychology, education, types of govenment and world peace organizations, anJ sociology. Humanities - philosophy, ethics, eth-ics, aesthetics, and architecture. Art books about all forms and types of art Including the history of art and architecture. Books are needed also on pottery pot-tery and sculpturing. Literature works of the more recent literature figure plus some good copies of the classics, as some of the library's book of classical literature are old print and are hard to read. Archaeology any books In the field. History particularly western U. S. History (history of southern Utah, history of Utah and of the southwest In general) plus books about many foreign countries and their history. Language dictionaries for all language other than French, German, Spanish and Latin are needed, plus books written In these languages. Music Classical and modem, opera and light opera. Shakespeare all typea of books about and by William Shakespeare. The Library lost eleven such books in the Leigh Hotel fire. Reference Books 1963 editions edi-tions of any encyclopedias, yearbooks, year-books, atlases, encyclopedias of various sciences; social of natur al and technical dictionaries. Social Customs marriage, divorces,. di-vorces,. Juvenile problems, etc quette. Drama plays and books about the theatre, its history, production, produc-tion, etc The LDF will accept books In any area whether mentioned above or not, with the provision that, in case of excessive duplication dupli-cation or of other volumes not suited to the use of the CSU Library, Li-brary, the Foundation reserves the right to give them to other libraries in need of such volumes or to make other proper disposition disposi-tion of them.
