Show Kiwanis Kids' Day Event Will Raise Needed Funds Preparations for Kids' Day, sponsored annually by the Kiwanis Ki-wanis Club of Cedar City, in connection con-nection with a nation-wide program pro-gram of Kiwanis International, will be hold this year on Saturday, Satur-day, Sept. 24, according to Blaine Standifird, general chairman. chair-man. A feature of the annual observation obser-vation has been the Pet Parade and Pet Show which will be held again this year in connection with the event. Saturday morning, morn-ing, Standifird said, children under un-der 12 years of age and their pets, be they angle worms or lions, will assemble for the an-nuaj an-nuaj parade. Following the parade the children child-ren and their pets will gather on the city park where judging will be conducted by members' of the civic club. Free Show During the afternoon the children child-ren will be entertained at the Cedar theatre. All participants in the parade will be awarded free movie passes for the afternoon show, it was pointd out. In connection with the Kids' Day the members of the Kiwanis Club wUl sponsor a peanut sale with the receipts of that sale to be turned over to Standifird and the Under-privileged Child committee com-mittee of the club. All money wiU remain with the club and this committee, it was pointed out. Arrangements have been made by the club to devote its meeting time Monday evening, Sept. 19, to sacking peanuts in preparation for the sale on Kids' Day. Other arrangements to attempt to entertain the children the following fol-lowing week at the CoLlege of Southern Utah - Dixie football game, are being worked out, it is understood. The children will again be guests of the club at the evening game if proper arrangements arrange-ments can be made. |
