Show Booth Reports Summer Progress j Each year the Cedar City' Chamber of Commerce Information Informa-tion Booth located on the city park serves as a headquarters for tourists passing through and also avaUs itself to information of all nature. As the booth closed its doors for another season Mrs. Fred L. Blederman (Tillie) and Mrs. Ralph Perkins, operators, reported report-ed some unusual figures and also some unusual questions that arose throughout the summer. Operating on a 7 a. m. to 7 p. m., seven day a week basis the booth was open from June 12 thru Sept. 12 this season. During that time Mrs. Bieder-man Bieder-man pointed out that a total of 4,080 cars stopped at the booth itself. A good many other tourists tour-ists took advantage of the park, Mrs. Biederman said, but the actual ac-tual number who came to the window for information was 4, 080. Of those 2,924 registered at the booth, she said. It is also interesting to note that of those who stopped approximately ap-proximately 509 cars were sent on to visit the Parks and national nation-al monuments in southern Utah. Reservations with hotels, motels and trailer courts throughout the city numbered 239 during the summer. Reservations placed with the Utah Parks Company at r""1" " 'in.!.....,, i, their accomodations in the parks amounted to 124. Maps of the United States were distributed in the amount of 817 and 2,087 Utah Parks and Cedar City brochures' were distributed during the three months period. In the operation for the third consecutive year the booth constantly con-stantly attracks more people and is becoming more widely used by the motoring public, Mrs. Biederman Bieder-man said. The booth, the city park and the facilities have received re-ceived many fine comments from tourists, she said and the city itself has received numerous compliments' com-pliments' from out of state visitors. |
