Show Cedar Rock Club, SUP Chapter loin to Sponsor Trek to "Hole-in-the-Wall" of Pioneer Fame Plans have been completed for a trek to the famed "Hole-In-the-Rock," where Mormon pioneers pio-neers crossed' the Colorado river to settle San Juan county, a trek that promises to be a most unusual un-usual experience for Cedar City residents. Many of those who plan to make the trip are des-cendents des-cendents of the members of the pioneer party which scaled the walls of the Colorado chasm. The trek, originally planned by the Cedar City Rock club, is now being sponsored by that organization or-ganization and the Cedar City chapter of the Sons of Utah Pioneers. Pio-neers. The trip will be a three-day three-day affair, over the Labor Day week end early in September. The excursion will begin at Escalante on Saturday, Sept. 5, and continue through Sunday and Monday, Sept. 6 and 7. Arrangements Ar-rangements have been made with Randall Lyman of Escal-rnte Escal-rnte to act as guide and to provide pro-vide transportation and food for the three-day excursion. The I lans call for a trip to the "Hole-in-the-Rock" and return, wun a number of other Interesting and historical spots to be visited during dur-ing the journey. Those who plan to make the trip should make reservations with Clem Judd, Wilson N. Lunt or George Croft, because transportation trans-portation will be limited. It is understood the cost of the trip trip will be $15 per person. |
