Show I . Carnival Promises Entertainment For All Who Attend Carnival time is here and the American Legion Post No. 71 of Cedar City is sponsoring the "Midway Shows" in Cedar City on Wednesday. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug. 26, 27, 2S and 2!). Tne Carnival featuring children's chil-dren's rides will be staged on the College of Southern Utah campus just south of the memorial mem-orial fieldhouse. The Midway Shows, a carnival company of Brigham City, Utah, will bring a host of rides and several concessions onto the campus to capture the fancy of the thrill seeking public. For the children a live pony ride has been one of the most popular rides, and of course, the merry-go-round, ferris wheel, roll-a-plane and glider rides are a must for the children. Concessions of all kinds will be sponsored by the show with only one sideshow side-show scheduled for the Cedar City appearance, that one a snake show that is strictly on the "to be viewed" side. According to Lorin C. Miles, chairman of the carnival project of the American Legion, the show has been arranged for on a percentage basis for rides and a flat rate for the concessions. Working on the committee with Mr. Miles is Legion Commander Orville Isom, in charge of location loca-tion and tickets, with George Grimshaw, Nathan Byers and Or-win Or-win Green as committeemen. |
