Show 172 Rams Entered For Sale in Livestock Show A total of 172 Ram Lambs and Yearling Rams, both registered and range, have been consigned to the breeding sheep sale of the 13th annual Southern Utah Livestock Live-stock Show to be held in Cedar City on Sept. 10, 11 and 12. From the type of rams consigned and the interest being shown in this part of the annual show indications indica-tions are that this will be a highly high-ly successful sale. The breeding sheep sale will be held on the second day of the show, Friday, Sept. 11. Judging of the stock will take place in the forenoon with the sale starting early in the afternoon in order that all animals may go through the auction ring. Rambouillet rams top the list of entries in the show with 26 registered and 70 range Rambouillet Ram-bouillet rams consigned to the show. Nine registered and 27 range rams of the Suffolk breed will be on the list, with nine registered and 21 range Columbia Colum-bia rams entered. There will also be three registered Hampshire rams, five Panama range rams, and five Panama-Rambouillet crosses. Among the breeders who have consigned rams to the sale are the College of Southern Utah at Cedar City, Dr. and Mrs. John H. Beal, D. L. Sargent and Sons, The Carl Cox family, the Thorley Brothers, Rulon S. Wood, H. H. Lunt, Clifford Olson, Wm. C. Pendleton, Pen-dleton, George Beal, George Foster, Fos-ter, Cline Bauer, Voyle Bagley, and Vickie Bosshardt. The annual Livestock Show will open on Thursday, Sept. 10, with judging of fat stock, lambs, steers and swine, and 4-H club and Future Farmer judging contests con-tests to occupy the time of the first day. Following the breeding sheep sale and a sale of a few breeding breed-ing heifers on Friday, the climax of the show will come on Saturday, Satur-day, Sept. 12, when all fat stock exhibited by 4-H club and Future Farmer chapter members will be put up for auction. |
