Show City Manager Post Still Unfilled Mayor L. V. Broadbent announces an-nounces that the selection of a city manager for Cedar City to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Thomas Thorsen, has been narrowed to four men and a decision should be made in the near future. However, the mayor points out, this does not necessarily mean that the new manager will come from the four men now being considered. "If none of the four men being considered con-sidered meet the qualifications we are seeking," the mayor said, "we will look further. We feel that we should find the right man rather than hurry the appointment ap-pointment too much," he continued. contin-ued. Two of the four candidates have visited Cedar City and have been interviewed and the other two are expected to arrive here for interviews before the week is over, Mayor Broadbent reported. The two men who have been interviewed are Major C. Mager of Sterling, Kan., and Harold II. Yungmeyer of Mexico, Mo. Mr. Hager is a former city manager and is now serving as sanitary engineer specializing in sewer and water problems. Mr. Yungmeyer Yung-meyer is acting city manager of the Missouri city. The mayor did not divulge the names or residence of the other two candidates being considered. A regular meeting of the city council is scheduled for tonight. Thursday, but a decision will not be made at the meeting because be-cause the other two candidates cannot reach Cedar City for interviews in-terviews until after the meeting. |
