Show Local Legion Post Prepares to Host District Convention District convention of the American Legion will be held in Cedar City Friday, April 23 with the local post No. 74 acting as host for the southern Utah group. Orville Isom, local commander, indicated that the business session ses-sion of the one night convention will get under way at 8 p. m. at the Cedar First Ward chapel. After the departmental meeting the delegates will move to Hotel Ei Escalante to enjoy an evening eve-ning of dancing and entertainment. entertain-ment. Legionnaires and auxiliary leaders from all of the southern Utah counties will be represented represent-ed Pt the meet. Those expected to be represented include St. George, Enterprise, Minersville, Milford, Beaver, Parowan, Pan-guitch, Pan-guitch, Ordervllle, Kanab and Hurricane. Principal speaker for the convention con-vention will be H. D. Reed, national na-tional vice commander of the American Legion, of Albuquerque, Albuquer-que, N. M. Numerous officials including Department Commander Wm. Sutleer of Duchesne, and Auxiliary Auxil-iary Department President Mrs. B. K. Farnsworth of Salt Lake City will also be in attendance. District commander Joseph Man-zione Man-zione of Beaver, and auxiliary district president Mrs. Elias Leigh will conduct the convention. |
