Fenton, local attorney, attor-ney, has been named president of the Escalante Knife and Fork Club to succeed Gordon Christensen, Christen-sen, whose term of office expired with the close of the 1953-54 lecture lec-ture season last Thursday. Elected to serve with Mr. Fenton Fen-ton was Arthur Higbee as vice president, succeeding Dr. F. B. Parkinson in this position. Edwin Ed-win L. Peterson, who is studying at U C L A in Los Angeles during dur-ing the present school term, has been appointed secretary and will succeed Loren A. Whetten. Mr. Whetten will continue to serve until Mr. Peterson's return to Cedar City early in June. The new officers were introduced intro-duced at the meeting of the club Thursday, and at the same time the results of the election of directors di-rectors were also announced. The directors were elected by balloting ballot-ing of the membership after which the president and vice president were selected from the board by the directors. Elected to serve terms of three years each were Dr. Reed W. Farnsworth, Arthur Gardner and Oscar Hulet. They replace Ian-thus Ian-thus Wright, Mrs. Arvilla Day and L. A. Whetten on the board. The other board members are Mr. Christensen, Dr. Parkinson, Roy L. Halversen and Parley Dal- loy. |
