Show Chamber Considers Hotel Exit, College Cooperative Program At the regular meeting of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce, Com-merce, at the Far East Cafe, on Wednesday noon, the top item of business was the proposal of Dr. John Beal, piesident, that each committee chairman as presently present-ly assigned organize and select his committee prior to next week's meeting. Tlie possibility of having Hotel El Escalante, which handles many functions at its ballroom, construct an additional exit from the ballroom had been suggested to the Chamber and Lanell N. Lunt, and Secretary Whitney Jensen were designated as a committee to contact the Utah Parks Co., for the sake of safety to Cedar Citv people, about the possibility cf erecting such an exit. A considerable amount of time was spent by the board discussing discuss-ing the possibility of cooperation coopera-tion between the College of Southern Utah and the Chamber of Commerce. Several suggested projects for the coming year were pointed out and an educational education-al committee will undoubtedly consider the suggestions. Upon the recommendation of President Beal the secretary was directed to send letters of appreciation ap-preciation to several Suffolk sheep men who made important import-ant contributions to the college during the past week. |
