Show Colored Clowns Meet y Southern Utah 'J All-Stars Saturday The New York Broadway Colored Col-ored Clowns will arrive In Cedar City this week end to- tangle with the Southern Utah all-stars at the College of Southern Utah fieldhouse Saturday evening, Feb. 6, in what promises to be a hilarious occasion for sports fans of the area. The Negro court Jesters, after four full seasons of play in the States, show a record of 478 wins In contests played against the best professional talent in the nation. They have been defeated but 53 times. In addition to their sensational sensation-al road record in the States, the Clowns have gained renown in South America, where they compiled 45 consecutive victories victor-ies during the 1951-52 season. Last season alone the court zanies compiled a record of 135 wins while losing only 10 games, and Incidentally scored one of those wins against an all-star team from Cedar City. Saturday evening they will be meeting what Is known as the Southern Utah all-stars which will Include such players as Ray Lindquist, die-hard expert from the olden days; Bud Fullmer. Don Marshall and Bob Crane of last year's outstanding C S U I C A C championship team. Augmenting the all-stars will be such such favorites as Loon Watson of St. George; Lindy Nellson, former B A C great, and Evan Nellson of Beaver. |
