The two victories gave the Broncos a four won and four lost record, putting them in third place. It had been expected that a. double victory over the Carbon team would put the Broncos into a tie for second or even into second sec-ond place, because the Snow Badgers had been odds-on favorites fav-orites to win at least one game from the Dixie Rebels. However, the Badgers failed to live up to their favored role and dropped both games to Dixie, moving the Rebels Into a first place tie. The Rebels walloped the Badgers 71 to 57 Friday night, and pulled out a one point, 67 to 66 victory Saturday. These results put added emphasis em-phasis on remaining games of the season, and particularly the Bronco series with the Badgers at Ephraim this week. The Broncos Bron-cos will tangle with the Badgers on Friday and Saturday nights, with Dixie meeting Carbon at Price. The Badgers took the measure mea-sure of the Broncos in the open- lng series of the season, with both games in the C S U field-house, field-house, which would indicate that Coach Jim Williams' squad should repeat against Coach Cleo Potty's team. However, the Broncos Bron-cos will make an all-out effort to stay in the championship race. Dixie will be favored to defeat Carbon at Price, but the Eagles defeated both Snow and C S U in earlier games at Price, and the Dixie Rebels will have a big job on their hands to win both games. The season will come to an end one week later, when Dixie and C S U tangle in a home and home series, while Carbon and Snow are also meeting. meet-ing. The outcome of this week's games could make the C S U-Dixie U-Dixie series the highlight of the entire season. In the first game against the Eagles the Broncos jumped into a 23 to 11 first quarter lead, and were never threatened although the remainder of the game was played on comparatively even terms.
